The Village Idiot

Meet Dean the owner of The Village Idiot on Melrose.  He was kind enough to let us use his space for a casting call + brunch.  Wonderful experience, wonderful staff, amazing food.
I recommend the pan roasted maitake mushrooms, creme fraiche, grilled ciabatta  also the chorizo stuffed bacon wrapped dates, roasted pepper tomato sauce is excellent.
The sandwiches are delicious - try the pub burger or the smoked pork roast.

This restaurant has been the spot for a few years now - Zagat just slept on this one.  They specialize in Taiwanese dishes, special juice mixes and shaved ice dessert.  Some of the key dishes you should try are the oyster omelette (In Taiwanese: ô-á-chian), Glutinous sticky rice (Zongzi), the Chinese sausages, and duck noodle soup.
Located at a shopping plaza in Arcadia, CA.
Clue: look for a mob of Asians and you'll find the spot.

A few months back, I took a visit to see long time friend, mentor and nightclub icon David Judaken. He took me on-site to one of his newest developments. EAST a restaurant and lounge located in the heart of Hollywood. Make sure to put that on your to do list when you visit LA.
